Frequently Asked Questions
Why loose mineral makeup?
Because it doesn't contain oils, preservatives, talc, fragrances or
added dyes.
Orchid Cosmetics mineral makeup is made with naturally occurring minerals
that have been used in cosmetics for thousands of years.
Will it cover as well as my liquid foundation?
Loose mineral foundation powder covers just as well. For a more
natural look
you use less powder. For more coverage you apply more powder.
Is mineral foundation powder easy to use?
Yes, some people use a brush, some a powder puff. The key is not
to apply too
much at once (you can always add more if needed). Which ever method
is used to apply
the powder, you then blend the powder evenly over the skin in an outward
circular motion.

Can I apply moisturizer before the mineral powder?
Yes, but it is recommended to allow the moisurizer to be absorbed
before applying
the foundation powder. This is generally a few minutes - depending on
the type and
amount of moisturizer used, as well as whether your skin is dry or oily.
Will mineral foundation powder stay on all day?
Yes, it stays on well. If you have been in hot conditions or down
to the gym -
then obviously you would need to touch things up.
Are your products allergy free?
Our products are made from gentle and natural ingredients, but we cannot
guarantee that
nobody will have a reaction to any ingredients. It is recommended that
if you are trying a
new product, always test on a small patch of skin first and wait 24-48
hours before using,
to see if there is any adverse reaction.
What is non-comedogenic?
Something that does not block pores;
not contributing to the formation of blackheads and pimples.
What are parabens?
Parabens are chemical preservatives - some believe they an effective
anti-bacterial and anti fungal formulas,
others believe they are not safe. They can cause skin irritation and
contact dermatitis in individuals
with paraben allergies.
